To keep our platform frictionless and secure, we practice strict data minimization. We only collect what is absolutely necessary:

• Account Information: When you sign in using Google or Apple, we strictly extract and store only your First Name and a unique user identifier. We do not store your full name, email address, or profile picture in our primary database.
• Subscription Status: We securely receive and store your active subscription status (e.g., active, expired) via our payment provider integration.
• Location Data: We request one-time or "while using the app" location permissions to verify you are within the Oudtshoorn area (our service geofence). We do not store or track your ongoing physical location.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Payment Details: All transactions are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We never see, collect, or store your credit card or billing information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your minimal data for the following purposes:

• To create and secure your LekkaLocal account.
• To verify your eligibility to access local deals based on your geographic location.
• To generate your secure, rotating QR code (TOTP).

4. How We Share Your Information (Merchant Validation)

To prevent fraud and validate your benefits, we share a strictly limited amount of data with participating LekkaLocal merchants.

• When you scan your QR code at a merchant, their scanner app will display only your First Name and your Active Pass Status.
• We do not share your contact information, location history, or any other personal data with merchants or third-party marketers.

5. Your Data Rights (POPIA)

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data. You can delete your account and associated data directly within the LekkaLocal app settings.
